This year’s display on Sunday 6 November 2016 will be the biggest firework and bonfire event in the area. Taking place on the Village Hall field, all the profits go to local charities and organisations. Why not come along for a fantastic night out and help raise money for local causes.
In addition to our fantastic display of some of the largest fireworks you will ever see is our Guy Fawkes competition and the ceremonial burning of the guys on our bonfire. There will also be a funfair, bar and various food and drinks stalls opening during the evening.
Gates and funfair open at 4:00pm with the spectacular display starting at 7.30pm.
Tickets can be purchased in advance, call 07958 535 971 to order your tickets. On the gate prices are £5 Adults and Kids £3.
Why not make a Guy and enter it into the competition. We have 3 cash prizes up for grabs. Just bring it along on the night by 6.00pm ready for the judging at 6.15pm. The guys will be placed on the bonfire at 6.45pm, which will be lit at 7.00pm.
Every year all of the profits raised from the event are given back and distributed amongst local charities, groups and individual worthy causes. The event is put on by a small group of volunteers who make up the Abridge Firework Committee. The committee members propose which groups and charities should benefit from the proceeds and a vote is taken to choose the organisations we will support.
Last year's event raised thousands of pounds. Donations were given to Abridge Lighting Fund, Chigwell Riding Trust for Special Needs, Lambourne School, Stapleford School, Abridge Tigers Girls Group, Essex Air Cadets, Chigwell girl Guides and the Queen's 90th Birthday Party.
This year's proceeds will be given to Chigwell Riding Trust for Special Needs, Abridge Lighting Fund, the renovation of the Old Scout Hut at Lambourne School, Abridge Cricket Club, Abridge Tigers Girls Group and Dylan's Story (dylansstory.co.uk).
We are hugely grateful for the help we receive from local businesses.
If you are a local business interested in sponsoring our event please drop us an email and we will be in touch to discuss available options.

We are always looking for volunteers to help us plan and set up the display. Any help will be greatly appreciated whether it’s just a few hours helping to set up, running a stall or coming along to our planning meetings held 3 times during the year. Get in touch with us on 07958 535 971 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.

The display will take place on the Abridge Village Hall field, our address is
Ongar Road, Abridge, RM4 1UH
Entry is only permitted via your purchased ticket. We operate a zero returns policy on all advanced purchased tickets.
There will be lots of free parking on the designated fields near the Village Hall along Ongar Road, subject to dry weather. Lighting is provided in these fields. It is only a short walk back to the display. Blue badge holders will be able to park in the village hall car park on production of their blue badge but spaces are limited.
Please remember that this is a charity run event organised by local volunteers. We organise and run the event and don’t charge for our time. We don’t gain anything from the time and effort we give, we do this purely to raise money for local charities and worthy causes. We would be really grateful if you remain mindful of this and appreciate the event for what it is. Whilst we strive to make it the best fireworks night in the area, we are a small group of volunteers wanting to put on an event for the local community to enjoy.
This year’s display is being put on by Starburst, starbursteffects.com, a fully professional pyrotechnics company who hold the necessary insurance and licenses that are required for public displays.
First Aid is provided onsite and we work closely with the local Police force, who normally attend on the night. In addition we have our own unlimited public liability insurance in place.
If you have any problems or issues on the night you should find a committee member (identifiable by their high-vis jackets) and ask them to assist or speak to any of the bar staff in the village hall.
Please note that sparklers are NOT ALLOWED anywhere on the village field. The Abridge Firework Committee reserve the right to refuse entry or confiscate any sparklers found.
